blogger is a ghost town

wow... blogger is dead... lol. i haven't been posting cause i've been working on a layout for a new blog, plus all the back to school stuff, etc... i'm making a blog on the same account as my gmail so it will be easier to access. i'll post the URL when i'm done w/ it. peace out everybody, rock rock on!

anyways, i was surfing the web yesterday, and i came along matt thiessens myspace. well, his status said ENGAGED!!!! i mean i knew he was probably going to be from this air1 article, but he didn't mention it on his blog or anything! sheesh. i think he's trying to keep it quiet. w/e. gah.

i have an ear infection! it hurts really bad. i have to take amoxicillin 3 times a day. -.- and i can swallow pills now yay!

the dentist

i just got back from the dentist. well actually it's been a half hour, so i can eat and drink now. yay! i hate floride. bleh. i almost puked. anyways, my favorite/usual dentist person (whatever they're called, the people who polish your teeth and stuff) got promoted, and i'm happy for her, but i had to have an intern (first the orthodontist, now this...). it was actually really hilarious though. i had this guy and he like kept asking me questions and stuff while he was polishing my teeth and he didn't know how to work the chair. i was like trying not to crack up the whole time. so it was one of my more... interesting dentist visits. and i'm sure none of you care. lol. c ya!

oh yeah, and...

i meant to post this earlier. you guys know how last memorial weekend i got to be an extra in a movie? here's a crowd shot... i'm the person in the bright yellow shirt. there are only like 25 people in there, they just took pictures of us all over and put them together on the computer. it worked out pretty well. you can already see me in a couple places in the front row, but if you zoom in you can see me up close. pretty cool.

heres another one... my mom and me and lauren are right there and then my dad and my relatives are farther back. haha, i'm hitting myself in the head w/ a balloon. we still have some of those balloons. :]

ok, that's it. i'm still readjusting to this Kansas weather. How can you guys stand it?? it's hotter than heckfire and darnation! (xD)

getting into you

july 23 we left for vacation! we left at about 3 and spent the night in des moines. my only memory of that campground was riding my bike around all the loops, A through S. i got most of them. lol. 

24- we left 1st thing in the morning and drove all day to michigan. the michigan campground was pretty nice... it was small and flat. that'll make sense when i describe the next one. it also had a jumping pillow, tennis court, shuffleboard, and other awesomenesses.

25- we went south haven, a nice little town that lauren went to with her girl scout troop. we went to all the quaint little shops, then to this restaurant named clementines. they had horrible service, so we told my dad that he should give them a bad tip. he took off one percent. way to show em, dad. so we stole the clementines pen they gave us with the bill. i still have that pen. xD then we went to the beach, and it was so fun! the waves were pretty awesome, and the water wasn't really gross like ocean water. it was actually really clean.

26-we went to warren dunes state park and climbed and ran down the tallest dune. boy, was that a workout. we had to walk up this super high dune, almost straight up in some places and the sand was REALLY hot, and you kept slipping in the sand. running down it was SO FUN, it almost felt like you were free-falling. so cool. then we went to this other beach, that wasn't as good as south haven. the waves were pathetic. we built liz a sandcastle, and it turned out really awesome. i tried to upload the pictures from my phone, but i couldn't, so deal. xP 

27-we drove towards wisconsin, and we stopped for lunch in chicago with CYNTHIA!!!!!! :] we ate at this place in buffalo grove (the suburb she lives in) with really good chicago style deep dish pizza. it was awesome. and we ordered way too much pizza, so we had pizza for one meal almost everyday for the rest of the trip. lol. the wisconsin dells campground was not only huge, but the entire thing was built on and extremely steep hill. we were about 1/4 mile away from the bathroom/showers, so we had to ride our bikes there everyday. we were about a mile away from the office, so the one time we went there to get on the computer (there was only wifi access immediately around the office) we had to ride our bikes there. the way there was okay, cause it was downhill, and it was great that we even made it because we had only a general idea of how to get there. we actually ended up on the wrong side of the lake and had to go cross country all the way around. riding back was horrible though cause it was all uphill. gah. anyways, back to the day we arrived... when we got there we went into the store to see about wifi, tried on mood rings (lol), then went to our spot. now, the explanation of the title of this post... i was reading these books my parents got me for confirmation; Diary of a Teenage Girl: Caitlin Book 1, 2, and 3. anyways they're all about this girl and how her life get's pretty rough and then she discovers God and stuff. so it got me thinking... i mean i was obviously already christian... i go to church every sunday, i pray every night, i listen to christian music constantly... but the thing is, I never really thought about God that much outside of church. so i "made up my mind, and my heart along with that; to live not for myself, but yet for God". so now i've been praying a lot and stuff, and just letting God lead my life. it's pretty awesome.

28- we went mini golfing. i started out doing really good, but then i started doing worse and worse and ended up losing.  you know how ashley is always talking how there's a song to go with every situation? i have a great one for this: "i better check my pride/ because i was starting to think/ I was on to something good/ but then things started to slide/and i sit here in retrospect/ and understanding that i misunderstood." then we went on a jet boat. you were supposed to get soaked, but i barely got wet. it was still really fun though, and we got to see the upper dells. i wrote this song about jet boats, to the tune of one of my piano songs, but i forgot it. LOL.

29- the day started out great, but while me and lauren were making pancakes and bacon on the griddle, it got terrible. i reached in front of the griddle to get the turner, and while my hand as there lauren reached up. she was reading the bacon bow so she didn't notice my hand was there. she bumped it into it and ended up giving me a second degree burn on my thumb. it hurt like heck, and i had to keep a ziploc bag of ice cold water on it all day to ease the pain. well, that pretty much ruled out our waterpark plans for the day, so we went to see mamma mia! then went to the tanger outlet mall. mamma mia! was good, but i was upset because my favorite song, thank you for the music, was only in the credits! :( they also left out knowing me, knowing you and... i forget what else. i actually managed to buy (almost) nothing at the mall (shocker!), but my dad bought socks (uh, yay?), my sister bought some aviators from american eagle (which look ridiculous on me but BA on lauren, LOL), and my mom bought a ton of stuff from coldwater creek. ok, i admit i did spend 2 dollars on massage chairs for me and lauren and $2.50 on skittles and combos (they were right next to each other on the vending machine! it was so awesome!), the two loves of my life (lol xD). from my haed down to my toes, i love skittles and combos!

30- we went to this awesome waterpark called mt. olympus. we did the poseidon go-karts, the poseidon's rage (they had entirely too many things called poseidon, there was a roller coaster too) wave pool, with 9 foot waves about every 3 minutes. we must have spent at least 2 hours at that one thing. then we did the triton racing slides with mats (haha i almost said matts) and the triton four person tube rides and the indoor waterpark, which looked extremely like great wolf lodge.

31- mt. olympus day 2... we went on this wooden roller coaster that went underground. it wasn't that fun. then we went on the rest f the water slides. they were fun.

august 1- well i thought this would be a sad day, because i was missing warped in milwaukee, and the breaking dawn midnight release party, but it ended up being fun. we went on a pontoon, and tubing, for two hours. that was great. then we went on this little water slide out in the lake. it was kinda boring. plus the bottom of the lake was all sharp rocks and mud, so it was like ow! ow! ow! squish. OW! ow! squish. squish. ow! yeah, so that wasn't as great. but it was ok.

august 2- we drove home, watched hot rod and princess diaries 2, and ate skittles and combos. then we unpacked then watched snl.

august 3- i slept in late, then we did after trip chores all day, mostly more unpacking and laundry. then we watched the rainn wilson snl. the opening was awesome, it was like my two favorite shows combined!!! the rest of it was awesome too. rainn wilson is hilarious. then we went to movie night at the barttons (lol really brattons but lisa spelled it wrong in the newsletter xD) jessica's house is sooo awesome, it's a log cabin and it's huge and just really really cool. we watched national treasure.

today- i listened to some gypsy parade stuff, cause i am a loyal dave douglas fan. i already knew we had good vocals, and of course drums (lol) but this stuff is pretty awesome. not as good as what he left tho. *sigh* anyways, check em' out! www.myspace.com/gypsyparade then i spent the rest of the day working on laurens bday present. i'll tell you all about it later, it's a lot of stuff. and i don't want to put it out here in case laurens looking. aaaand, i discovered searchwithrelientk.com. it's just like using google search, and it comes up with the same results, but you can randomly win swag bucks which you can use to buy cool stuff. anyways, if you guys register from the banner below, i get one swag buck for every swag buck you get. pretty cool, huh? and if you have fire fox or internet explorer, you can download it as a toolbar. so i would love you guys forever if you did that, but you don't have to.

omg, i haven't posted in over a month and it seems like it's been only a couple weeks!! gah. i hate how fast summer is going!!!

haha, i'm watching the jake gyllenhaal SNL. bronx beat!!! :] but it does make me sad cause maya rudolph is gone. :(

so... since i last posted... well nothing much really happened in the rest of june. in july... 

july 1st- the new relient k cd, the bird and the bee sides, came out. well actually, the first 13 songs are the Nashville Tennis EP (tell me if you get the joke behind that name and i'll give you a wintogreen.) yay!! have you listened to that yet thais? i've listened to it probably literally like a hundred times. hehehehehehehehe. yay!!!

july 2nd- the vans warped tour. a very sad day indeed... i couldn't go. :( :( :( i also tried to convince my parents to let us go in milwaukee since we'll be only about 100 miles away in the wisconsin dells, but they said no cause they didn't want to drive. humph.

july 3-5- stayed at my aunt and uncles lake house (on table rock lake) with them, mom, dad, lauren, cassie (my cousin) and cassie's boyfriend sean. we spent most of the 3rd driving up there, went tubing and wakeboarding all day on the 4th, came back to the lake house and had a fireworks war w/ the people across the street (bahaha). and me and lauren and cassie and sean stayed every night till one or later watching movies. on the first day we watched talladega nights, blades of glory, and transformers, the next day we watched elf and happy feet. yep, very funnn.

july 6-12- lauren was gone on workcamp, i still had swim team -.-

july 10-12- i had my garage sale at my grandmas house, i ended up making $102. 05. YAY!!!

july 13- lazers end of the year picnic/ swimming party. would have been very boring except gracie came w/ lucie, so it was really fun. but i'm still sad cause taylor carr didn't bring cookies shaped like feet.  they are delicious. and they have mini m&m toenails. 

july 14- a boring monday, really the only highlight was riding my bike up to the pool and getting a free snowcone in exchange for bringing lauren her book. a very good deal, if i do say so myself.

july 15- all city swim meet. i went for about an hour, but it was INSANELY hot and i couldn't see anything and i was bored out of my mind, so i walked home and cleaned my room. anything was better than staying there, as long as i had air conditioning.

july 16- allergist appointment, how boring.

july 18- high school musical at starlight theatre. very different than the original. VERY.

aaaand... i got my hair cut! it's still a foot below my shoulders but i like it so much better now. and m bangs were getting really long and they were really thin and pathetic anyways so i got fuller, shorter bangs. yay!

july 20- i packed. all day. besides church/sunday school/youth. youth was walking to sonic... it was very hot. we were all dying. and then we played signs. jessica got a large mocha java chiller w/ an espresso shot (NOT what jessica needs) so she was crazy. once she just randomly went up and stood on the hill and started dancing. weirdly. it was hysterical.

today- i stayed till 3 AM watching the fresh prince of bel air and slept till 12. then  i got up and took a shower and then cleaned a bunch and sat around reading eclipse and playing on the computer and practicing piano. very fun. xD

well, that was my very fascinating life update. i'd like to conclude with 5 great things about america. freedom, justice, america, and uh... what's that last one? oh right. taco bell. thank ya.

sorry i haven't posted forever, either i've been super busy or laurens had the computer. blech. anyways, i updated my profile... so you can go look at that or whatever... i'm kind of stalling trying to figure out how to cover everything that's happened. i've decided that from now on i'm going to make little, hopefully daily posts, so they never have to take too long. hm... 

i guess i'll start where i left off. that next week i went to Camp Chippewa, which was maybe one of the best weeks of my life. it had some downsides too, like i missed the first week of swim team, and i got 5 tic bites... -.- but other than that... i didn't even mind all the walking or trudging through horse crap or unsaddling sweaty horses! or really even the tics, except for when my mom got me al freaked out about lyme disease... but ya it was awesome! the girls were me, ashley, gracie, and jordan(awesome) and jade(weird but awesome), and the guys were trevor(hilarious), alex(quiet), devon(pronounced like devin, but i always called him da-von), ian(okish), and reyce(annoying, prounced "race" so it always confused gracie). so ya, it was all really fun. i even loved the meals! they were AMAZING. oh ya another bad thing... i got sick on tuesday. -.- but ya, the rest of the week rocked. i was SO SAD when it was over. :'(  i did get an awesome necklace and stuffed frog from the canteen tho... i just realized i haven't named the frog yet! hm... weeshnaw! lol

and then after that swim team started and i pretty much sat around bored most days... except for when i went to thais's house. and me and lauren made cookies and stuff. and i started going through my stuff for the garage sale. so i guess i had enough to do. oh ya, and thais started teaching me spanish over the phone. the swim meet on thursday started but got cancelled cause they saw lightning... this was right b4 the tornado warnings too... so it was rescheduled for today. warmups start in a couple hours. -.- i have to swim breaststroke, which is my worst stroke. -.-

last weekend we went camping in lawrence, which was awesome... we went out to dinner (me and lauren went to zen zero [best place ever] and my parents went to buffalo bobs or something), then we came back to the camper and made smores, and then we slept, and then we played shuffle board (i dominated :]), and then we did banana bikes bcuz lauren told me they were fun but i hated them, and then we got snickers ice cream bars (LOVE those), and then we got in the car but my dad was all paranoid about THUNDERSTORMS (probably NOT going to kill you) so we sat around while he listened to his annoying weather radio... i listened to my iPod under noise blocking headphones (lol julia), and then we drove home, and then we went to chilis for fathers day... yeah. pretty awesome. and me and lauren made a video of us eating big blocks of dippin dots frozen together. lolzers. oh btw... me and lauren have two (undisclosed) videos were going to make, so you may be in one of them! literally just one of them, the other one only needs two ppl.

so anyways... i'm so excited for june 1st! relient ks new album is coming out! :] it's been forever. i've already heard 3 of the songs, but there are 26 songs. like half of are just acoustic versions of old songs. it's going to be awesome! we're going to pre-order it as soon as my mom gets home so we can use her credit card. YAY!

so i have been practicing piano so much i have all my songs memorized, except three apples and a half. it's quite sad. that is the hardest song i've ever played! it's very... quirky, but i love it.

so yesterday i read this book called tell it to naomi. i thought when i started reading it "yeah this will be ok, maybe kinda cliched and boring..." but it was riveting. i literally could not stop reading it until i finished. you should definitely read it. now i'm gonna read small steps. i'm sure it'll be good.

so.. what is happening in your life? what is the latest gossip? what are the latest trends? what is the 411? oh you keep me young. (lol that's from mean girls. LOVE THAT MOVIE! i have not seen that in way too long tho. *sigh* lol.)
